William Perez

Fire Chief, Edd, EFO,CFO, CEM, NRP

​Dr. William Perez has spent 35 years in public safety.  He began his career in commercial EMS working as a paramedic in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1987. In 1993, he was hired at the East Hartford Fire Department in East Hartford, Connecticut.  During his time at EHFD he was promoted multiple times, served as the Interim Fire Chief and retired as the Assistant Fire Chief after 25 years of service. 
During his time at EHFD he was active in the Navy Reserves and served as an FMF Corpsman during the Iraqi Freedom Campaign.  He obtained his Doctorate in Education (EdD) at the University of Hartford.  He is also an instructor at the National Fire Academy and Adjunct Professor at Capital Community College.  He currently works as a Fire Chief. Over the years, he has gone through numerous promotional exams with exceptional success.  He has also participated in over 50 oral boards/assessment centers at all levels, from firefighter to fire chief.  He has been behind the desk deciding who to hire or promote giving him the inside tract on what Chief's are looking for.

Moria Perez, BA

Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic

Moria Perez has spent 23 years in public safety.  She began her career volunteering in EMS in rural Montana.  During college, she volunteered for Rescue Inc. in southern Vermont.   In 1999, she was hired at Manchester Fire Rescue EMS (MFRE) as a firefighter/paramedic in Manchester, Connecticut where she currently works.  During her time at MFRE, she has achieved the rank of Fire Lieutenant.  For the last seven years she has been an Adjunct Professor at Capital Community College.  She has participated in numerous oral boards for new employees over the years.
